 This out-of-the-ordinary Christmas Tour is the only tour that will take you to for three days to the Nutcracker Tour of Seiffen in the Erzgebirge Mountains in Saxony, along with extended stays in the small Renaissance town of Torgau and the renowned Baroque city of Dresden. 


Nov.. 26 - Depart home for your flight to Germany.

Nov. 27 - Arrive Leipzig and transfer to your hotel in the very center of Leipzig. Relax for a while before we take you for a stroll through the Christmas Market ending in an old Saxon restaurant where we dine on traditional fare. D

Nov. 28 - The morning is at leisure till we are met by our coach to drive to the small Renaissance town of Torgau famous for is big old castle and once the home of Martin Luther and his family. Your hotel is on the town square where a little Christmas Market is set up. After a stroll through Torgau the remainder of the afternoon is on your own before we drive to our very own castle, the Castle Schnaditz, a knights castle built in 1237, where you will dine on tradition Texas barbeque!  Since you are special VIP guests we invite you to climb the 90-foot high tower which is not open to the general public. B D

 Nov.29 - A day trip will take us to Berlin where we take you on a city to all the famous and  not so famous sights and to spend time at the Christmas Market set up around the ruin of Kaiser Wilhelm Church, the burned out landmark that has been left standing as reminder of the destruction of War. After returning to Torgau the evening is on your own. B

Nov.30 - After breakfast a day excursion will take you Wittenberg where Martin Luther initiated the Reformation by nailing his 95 thesises on the Castle Church door 500-years ago. We will visit the the old Augustinan Monastery where a special exhibition recalls this event. After returning to Torgau we will dinner at Herr Kaethe -(Mr.Kaethe) named after Luther's wife Katharina von Bora who wore the pants in the family and managed the household while Luther was out spreading the Reformation. B D

Dec. 1 - Today we leave Torgau to drive to the Nutcracker town of Seiffen in the Erzgebirge mountains. After arrival you are free to explore this small village packed to the hilt with Nutcrackers, Christmas pyramids, the famous Schwippbogen (you'll find out what it is) and other hand carved items. In the evening we meet for dinner in the hotel. B D

Dec. 2 - This morning we visit a woodcarver where you will have a hands-on lesson in the art of carving a figure from a piece of wood. The afternoon and evening is at leisure to go shopping! You will need all the time you have for this. B

 Dec. 3 - This morning we drive to the nearby town of Neuhausen to visit the Nutcracker Museum displaying hundreds of Nutcrackers dating back to Roman times. Afterwards we have lunch at a nearby castle before returning to Seiffen where you have the remainder of the afternoon to do some more shopping - and you can be assured that there is never enough time to shop in Seiffen! In the evening we drive to a historic stage coach station in a forest on what used to be the Salt Road, where caravans would transport salt from the salt mines in Salzburg to the north of Germany. Dinner tonight is a Neinerala, a dinner as was served in the mountains around Seiffen on Christmas Eve. B D

Day 4 - After a leisurely dinner we drive to the Saxony's beautiful baroque capital, Dresden. En route we stop at the Castle Coldiz where allied officers were imprisoned during WWII. The castle is now a museum displaying the incredible escapes the allied officers undertook, so incredible and ingenious that even the German guards admired them for it and often looked the other way. After arriving in Dresden where your hotel is across from the stunning Frauenkirche Cathedral and the prestigious new market square, not very though as it dates back a few centuries. In the evening dinner in a congenial pub a short walk from the hotel. B D

Dec 5- In the morning we take you on a walk through Dresden's baroque center to show you what's where after which the day is on your own. But you will have a Dresden Card that gives you free entrance to most museums, free local transport and other reduction. B

Dec. 6- The day is on your own to pursue your own interests, shop at the Christmas Market or a any of the stores in the old center of Dresden, visit a museum or take a city tour for which you get a 50% discount with your Dresden Car. Clients who have been on this tour all said it is well worth taking. In the evening we have dinner in the vaults underneath the city where once the Dresden Fortress has stood. B D

Day7 - After breakfast transfer to the airport for you homeward flight. B
