After a stroll through Torgau taking in all the sights and sounds, the remainder of the afternoon is left to your choosing before we drive to our very own castle, the Castle Schnaditz. This castle was a knights castle built in 1237, where you will dine in, enjoying a traditional Texas barbecue! Yes, you read that right! Since you are special, VIP guests, you will also be invited to climb the 90-ft high tower connected to the castle, which is not open to the general public. BD

After returning to Torgau, the evening is left to your choosing! B

Day 7 – In the morning we visit a woodcarver where you will have a hands-on lesson in the art of carving a figure from a piece of wood. The afternoon and evening are to be spent at your leisure to explore and go shopping! You will need quite a bit of time for this! B

Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at a nearby castle before returning to Seiffen, where you have the remainder of the afternoon to do some more shopping – and you can be assured that there is never enough time to shop in Seiffen! In the evening we will drive to a historic stage coach station in a forest on what used to be the Salt Road, where caravans would transport salt from the salt mines in Salzburg to the north of Germany. Dinner tonight is a Neinerala, a dinner that was served in the mountains around Seiffen on Christmas Eve. BD

Day 9 – After a leisurely dinner, we will drive to the Saxony’s beautiful baroque capital, Dresden. En route we will stop at the Castle Coldiz, where allied officers were imprisoned during WWII. The castle is now a museum displaying the incredible escapes the allied officers undertook, so incredible and ingenious that even the German guards admired them for it and often looked the other way. After leaving the castle we will arrive in Dresden, where your hotel is located right across from the stunning Frauenkirche Cathedral and the prestigious new market square – not  so new, though, as it dates back a few centuries. In the evening we will dine in a congenial pub just a short walk from the hotel. BD
