ITINERARY

Day 1 – Depart home for your flight to Paris.

Day 2 –  Arrive Paris and transfer to the hotel.  After checking in there is time to relax before we take you for a walk around the neighborhood to show you what is where including a fabulous chocolate shop. Our hotel is located in St. Germain, in a typical Parisian neighborhood with cafes, restaurants and pubs, and just a few blocks from the quai along the Seine, the Louvre,  the Musee de Orsay with its fantastic selection of  Impressionists, and Notre Dame.  In the evening dinner is down the street in a small restaurant that’s that’s big on charm and great food. D

Day 3 –  After sleeping in, start the day with a leixurely breakfast in the beautiful atrium breakfast room of the hotel.  Later we go on a foodie walk that will take you a famous chocolatier, a fantastic bakery, a food market and a pastry shop. Afterwards the remainder of the afternoon is on your own.  In the evening  enjoy a casual  dinner in a small pub near the hotel. B D

Day 4 – The day is on your own to visit a museum, or take the day to pursue other interests. In the evening it’s dinner is at Jules Verne atop the Eiffel Tower  where Chef Alain Ducasse, one of the great chefs of Europe, will enchant you a fabulous meal that will be topped of by dessert from their own chocolate factory. B D

Day 5 – This morning visit the Ille de Cite, the island in the Seine on which Notre Dame is located. After visiting Notre Dame, we take a short walk to the tip of the island which is one of the oldest sections of Paris to have lunch in a traditional  Parisian Cafe.  Afterwards the remainder of the day and the evening is on your own. Day 6 – Having tasted the chocolates at Jules Verne we have a private visit to the chocolatier who creates the chocolates for Jules Verne. It’s not a chocolate factory but the private studio of a chocolate artist with a romantic garden where the flavors for hs chocolates are grown. Later, after we have tasted some of the creations that are produced here we return to the hotel where the remainder of the afternoon is on your own until we meet for a dinner in a typical Parisian Bistro.  B D

Day 7 – After breakfast we transfer to the train station to travel to Montreux in Switzerland where the beautiful Hotel Suisse Majestic will be home for the next five days.  In the evening we will go out for Fondue in an old neighborhood in Montruex.

Day 8 – After breakfast a special day is in store for us. We will take the train to Vevey to visit the former home of Charly Chaplin, a beautiful and fascinating place. Later we can’t afford to miss the chocolatier whose specialty are the Big shoes of Charly Chaplin done in Chocolate. Back at the hotel the remainder of the day is at leisure. B

Day 9 – This morning we will take the train to Lausanne where you will have a private hands-on session of how great chocolate is made at the chocolate studio of a famous chocolatier. Afterwards we pause for lunch in the old center of Lausanne before we return to Montreux where the evening in on your own. B L

Day 10 –  Today we travel by train to Geneva where you stay in a sumptuous hotel in the center of the old town. The hotel is housed in in four historic buildings dating to the 13th century.  After getting settled take some time to relax in your beautiful room before take a stroll through old Geneva brimming with stores, restaurants, and cafes. In the evening dinner is wonderful small inn not far from the hotel.  B D

Day 11 – The morning is at leisure. In the afternoon we have private visit to Switzerland’s oldest Chocolaterie whose chocolates have been bought by many famous people including Grace Kelly, JF Kennedy and Winston Churchill. The visit ends with time out in their comfortable tea room to savor some of their irresistible treats. After returning to the hotel the evening is on your own. B

Day 12 –  The day is on your own to shop or pursue other interests. In the evening we meet to have dinner in one of the nicest restaurants in Geneva. B D

Day 13 – Transfer to the airport for your return flight. B

Tour Cost:  $4,980.00 per person in a double room.
Single Cost: $6,150.00

If you would like to book a space, we will send you a reservations form. The deposit is $500.00 per person. The balance is due 60 days before departure.

11 nights deluxe hotel accommodation, daily breakfast, 7 dinners, 2 lunches, first class swiss train pass, all transportation, all included sightseeing, and chocolate tastings, and the services of Posh Journeys as your host.

Not Included

International air fare, airport transfer on arrival and departure (we will work with you on coordinating these) alcoholic drinks, bottled water and soft drinks unless they are part of an included meal, and any item not specifically mentioned in this itinerary.
